TRAVEL TIPS
Whether you’re visiting Houston for the first time or returning for another
unforgettable experience, here are a few tips to help you travel smarter,
maximize your comfort, and enjoy everything the city has to offer.
Plan for Houston’s Weather
Houston’s weather can be unpredictable, ranging from hot, sunny days to
sudden rain showers, especially in the summer.
Summer months (June-August): Pack light, breathable clothing and
sunscreen, as temperatures can rise above 90°F.
Rainy season: Bring an umbrella or a light rain jacket, as sudden showers
can happen year-round, especially in the spring.
Winter months (December-February): Winters are generally mild, but it’s
good to bring a jacket, especially for the cooler evenings.
Currency and Tipping
Houston uses U.S. dollars, and credit cards are widely accepted.
Tipping: It is customary to tip 15-20% in restaurants, and to offer small
tips for services like valet, housekeeping, and bellhops. If you’re unsure,
feel free to ask our team for local tipping standards.
