About
Austin Country Club
Austin Country Club’s story is woven into the
history of the city itself. Founded in 1899, the
Club has evolved alongside Austin, shaping and
reflecting its character for more than a century.
Over time, the Club has called three distinct
locations home, each contributing to the legacy
it holds today.
Originally established near downtown Austin,
the Club later relocated to its Riverside location
before finding its present home along the banks
of the Colorado River. Today's West Lake Hills
setting, with a course designed by renowned
golf course architect Pete Dye, features sweeping
views, a championship golf course, and a
landscape that feels both natural and enduring.
The Club is also recognized on the global stage
as host of the World Golf Championships-Dell
Technologies Match Play tournament from 20162023, reinforcing its reputation for excellence
and precision.
Equally central to the Club’s identity is the legacy
of Harvey Penick, one of golf’s most respected
instructors. His philosophy of simplicity,
integrity, and respect for the game continues
to shape both the course and the culture of
hospitality today. This rich history creates
a setting unlike any other, where weddings
become part of a longstanding tradition and
celebrations feel both meaningful and enduring.
